Gunslinger Satchel

A handmade bison leather saddlebag style satchel.

Each bag is made out of 4-5 ounce bison leather with a suede overlay on the flap with 6 elk antler buttons stitched as a decoration. The bag closes via a 1″ strap and buckle. Each bag features a 1″ wide 60″ long shoulder strap made out of 8-10 ounce latigo cowhide in your choice of color.

The main body of the bag is available in light or dark brown bison leather, with the suede overlay also available in light or dark brown.

You also have the option of having the flap overlay, or entire bag being made out of brain tan bison leather. Brain tanned leather is a traditional method of tanning, where the leather is processed using the brain of the animal and then smoked over a fire. Brain Tanned leather is much more complicated to make, so it is a bit more expensive. Brain tan is much more true to the period, so if accuracy to what would have actually been used in the late 1800s is what you’re going for, you cannot do better than Brain tan.

*Note, as brain tanned leather is smoked over a fire, it will have a fairly strong campfire smell that may not fade for some time.

Each bag has a generous (12.5″ x 9.5″ x 2″) main storage area as well as a smaller inner pocket for smaller items.
