This is a special coin pouch, made out of a mottled green shell cordovan leather from the Rocado tannery in Italy
Shell cordovan is a rare leather made of a specific section of horse hide. One horsehide will only yield two small oval sections of shell cordovan, each only 1 or 2 square feet total. Any shell cordovan leather is rare, but this particular type of shell cordovan is even more rare than normal. It is a limited run from Rocado called “museum” for the mottled dye application which gives it a lot of character and texture.
the pouch is 4″x4″x4″ and has a simple snap closure flap.
Due to the nature of the leather, this is a very rare item, and it is unlikely that another just like it will be made any time soon.
