1) I am 5’-7” so my over shoulder is 41”. Do keep high adjustability since I will sometimes wear extra heavy layers being in the Northeast. 2) My pants have a wide center back belt loop, sometimes 2 to 4 inches. So, I need an “X” design in the back adding a second strap. I did think of doing away with the ring (good idea!) and replacing it with an “X” leather sleeve (a hefty diamond hub, intersection, somewhat like the over shoulder pad for the heavy bag straps). The “X” sleeve would have two overlapping channels which the two straps would pass through and overlap one another. The strap overlap could manually be slid up or down guided by the “X” leather sleeve. In that way, there would only be two continuous straps and no separate back straps (and no need for any Chicago screw adjustments with the lower back straps!). I prefer that option. How does it sound to you? And, yes, the breast strap would be 1 3/4″ (not over 2″) wide and adjustable with Chicago screws. Also, I will ask for four matching dangler loops with brass D rings. Keeping the rivets at both ends, I would suggest a central strap overlap of about 3 and ¾ inches with six holes about ¾ inches apart secured with two brass Chicago screws on each strap. 4) Let’s add a 1 and ¾ inch breast strap. The ends of the strap may need to be a bit wider to allow two Chicago screws (on each side) to be secured to the existing front strap holes. Appropriate tempering may be needed to align to the 1 and ¾ inch breast strap width. Similar to a working man’s belt, the strap will have two parallel rows of holes about ¾ inch apart for its entire length. Like the back straps, the breast strap should have an overlap of about 3 and ¾ inches (strap length of about 12 inches)
I would like to add two shoulder pads, just like the ones used on your briefcases. Also, in addition to the breast strap, a second option I would like to add is a one inch cross strap identical in features as the 1-3/4 inch breast strap (but with a single 3/4 inch row of holes, length of about 12 inches with overlap of about 3-3/4 inches with Chicago screws). This narrower strap gives me an option to have simple over the shoulder parallel straps (not using the X-slider). So would you please make a series of 3/4 inch apart holes on each of the straps where the shoulder blades/base of neck are located and down a bit on the back.
