Blue “Museum ” Shell Cordovan Wallet with Blue Buttero Interior

This is a special bifold wallet, with the outer layer made of Blue Museum shell cordovan leather from the Rocado tannery in Italy. This wallet is especially unique, as it features the Rocado Stamp inside the cash pocket. There’s only one stamp per hide, so we have to be very particular about where we place it.

Shell cordovan  is a rare leather made of a specific section of horse hide. One horsehide will only yield two small oval sections of shell cordovan, each only 1 or 2 square feet total. This leather is very rare, and highly sought after. The finish, feel, and eventual patina of cordovan leather are like no other, making its fame well deserved.

This particular shell is especially unique, as it features the “museum” dye that gives it it’s mottled, textured look.

The interior of this wallet is made out of blue Buttero leather from the Walpier Conceria tannery in Italy.The entire wallet is hand burnished with tokonole to highlight the grain of the edge of both the cordovan and buttero leathers.

Due to the nature of the leather, this is a very rare wallet, and it is unlikely that another just like it will be made any time soon.
